The squirrel is a great target size. It's just small enough at 100 yards to be a bit challenging for an inexperienced shooter (and maybe some more experienced shooters, too!), but if they can routinely hit it then they'll have no problem hitting the vitals of deer at the same distance.

The soda can makes a perfect "challenging" target for inexperienced shooters at 100 yards, but there's one caveat. If you have this mounted on a target hanger, even something as small as a .223 Rem will flip it up over the top of your mounting location. We have it hanging from a pipe mounted on the backside of a horizontal 4x4 at the top of our target setup, and every time we shoot it, it will flip over and get hung up, so I've had to improvise a system that will prevent it from doing so. That's not a knock on the quality of the target itself, but you should be aware of it.

This is a fun little target and works wonders for giving kids or inexperienced hunters confidence in their shooting abilities. The audible gong of the bullet hitting the steel provides instant feedback. If they can consistently hit this target, then they should have no problem hitting a deer's vitals at the same distance.

Our public range has this spinning target set up for use at 15 yards with frangible ammo. Shooters who time their shots right are able to get it spinning full rotations with frangible ammo. One shooter was able to get it to spin a full rotation with just 4 shots from a handgun using 10mm frangible ammo. It has been a great addition to our steel target shooting bays.

This is a fine target. Easy to assemble and set up at the range. I got it for my grandchildren to practice on. They love it!

I shot the round SR500 target last weekend @ 100 yards and I am impressed. I shot it with .223, 6.5 Grendel and 6 ARC. I was surprised how hard the 6 ARC was hitting, a lot louder than the other calibers. I went to check the steel out expecting the 6 ARC to do some damage. The steel was unaffected, couldn't feel any depressions in the steel. I will be buying more in the future.
