Finally got good enough weather to get out and shoot these things. They ring nice and are pretty tough against regular .223 and pistol ammo. These are a tough shot to hit because of the size so everyone loved when they heard the ring. Had a blast shooting rifle and pistol at these all day.
One caveat is to make sure when firing at these that you aren't using steel tip ammo. We now have several of the 3/8" targets looking like someone used a hole punch on them. Not because the product is bad, but because I failed to check what I had in the mag before shooting them. Atlas warns you against shooting their products with steel tip and I can attest that it will not so well for the target if you do.
Upside is that Atlas will be getting another order for striped gopher targets to replace the ones I broke and downside is we have some targets that look a little funny with holes in strange places.
Awesome value & fun!! Thx
Nice targets. Having the hole above the target makes for nice shooting. Swings easily. Not much sound though.
This target is roughly 20% smaller than my old soft steel squirrel target. I enjoy the challenge. It's AR500 tough. It's very well cut, It's very detailed and realistic. So my first outing was fun. 185 yards with my original Winchester Low Wall .32 WCF with tang sight. A lot of hits and sent that Gopher-a spinnin! Thanks.
