Usage: Rimfire & Non-Magnum Handguns (.22LR, 9mm, .45 ACP etc)
Distance: 10+ yards
Energy Rating: Up to 500 ft-lbs at impact
Velocity Rating: Up to 3,000 fps at impact
Note: While this is rated for centerfire pistols, I recommend bumping up to 3/8" SR500+ if it's going to be for heavy centerfire pistol use.
Usage: Handguns & Rifles (magnum pistols, .223, .308, .30-06 etc)
Distance: Handguns 10+ yards, Rifles 100+ yards
Energy Rating: Up to 3,000 ft-lbs at impact
Velocity Rating: Up to 3,200 fps at impact
Note: 3/8" SR500+ is the go-to target material for 95% of shooters and what I run on my personal range. If you're thinking that this material can't handle your rifle, remember that these ratings are at the point of impact and not at your muzzle. You just need to adjust your distance so the bullet loses enough energy to be bellow these thresholds.
Usage: Magnum Rifles (.300 Win Mag, .338 Lapua etc)
Distance: 100+ yards
Energy Rating: Up to 4,000 ft-lbs at impact
Velocity Rating: Up to 3,200 fps at impact
Note: This is the go to target material for those of you who have magnum rifles and not enough range to get the target out there very far.
