Really nice unit! But those bearings!

Tired a buddy's Spinner and liked it so much I bought my own. Excellent for timing training and adding to my NRL22 Target set. Very nicely made. Quality work.

My only gripe is with the bearings. You need to slide them over the rod they provide. The fit is EXTREMELY tight. They do not just slide on. There is almost no need for the locking collars. I tried it dry and then added a bit of grease. Nothing worked. They would not slide on with any force my hands/arms could produce.

So I wouldn't damage the bearings I wound up using a couple 4x4 posts, drilling a hole just big enough for the rod and drove the rod through the bearings. This again was no easy task. It required force on the rod with a hand held sledge hammer.

I asked my friend if he had a similar issue. He did indeed. BUT he used a dremel and grinding wheel and gentle ground and polished the inside race of the bearing till it fit.

So be aware, getting the bearings on the rod if you don't have some tool to do it, is a bit of a pain. That's the only thing stopping me from giving it a 5 star rating.

But once on, super durable and a great spinner!!!!

Sorry about the hassle Art. The problem was the 1' axle was ever so slightly out of round. Once I caught the problem I got some new material in and they fit great now. If you ever have issues with it in the future just get hold of me and I'll make it right.

Bought for husband

He really enjoys the targets. Need to be better packaged for shipping. He got his birthday present early just to verify the order was complete after the boxes arrived opened.

Great construction

Having used and seen several other spinners, I think Atlas has hit the mar with this design. It's rugged and durable design will have it lasting for years. The discs and adjustable arms are easily removed for replacement (when that time comes around eventually). It is one of my top buys for targets. Thanks Brad for building such a great product.

Great Design

I have only used a couple of other spinners before this purchase. Let me say the quality built into the Atlas is superior to the others. This thing is a blast to use and a great challenge. I just wish that it wouldn’t eat up so much ammo, given our current situation (ammo 2021). If you are looking for something to add to your target inventory, I strongly suggest buying one of these.

Excellent!

I bought this and a rifle sized spinner from another company and I ended up putting both together on the same night. The Atlas spinner is better designed is much more well finished. It was easy to put together and spins freely even without being greased, and the grease zerk is a very nice touch! I haven't had the chance to shoot it yet but I don't see how there could be any problems.

I think it's hard to go too wrong with making steel targets but Atlas has made an exceptionally good first impression on me.
